Is it any good

I have an 87 GTA with the original delco radio/tape player with the grapic eq. The manual gives me no clue as to the power output, frequency response or overall quality of the unit. I would like to keep the cars stock appearance if possible. I think that if I upgrade the speakers that should provide a significant improvement, but do not want to do so if the radio/tape player is total garbage. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

There is no sound like aftermarket sound.
You will get better sound if you just replace the speakers but once you power them with an amplifier or just getting more power from an aftermarket CD player there is a world of difference. Just replace the speakers, then let the bug bite you and the rest will be history.
Always keep your factory units though for resale purposes.
