I recently got the chrutchfield catalog.
they got these deals on 10 inch subs--
rockford fosgate= 2 for 79.99
cerwin-vega stealth 3 =2 for 139.90
kenwood tornado =buy one get 1 free 119.95
im lookin to run 100wats /250-bridged RMS
which one of these would be the better deal.
Im making a ported box to fit both, I play mainly rap. which am I better off with???

D) None of the above.
But given those 3 choices, I'd go for the Cerwin Vegas. I'd rather have 1 regular Vega than 2 Stealths though.

I'd have to go with the vega's myself,,, but I'm bias too (since I have thier AT-15 home speakers). Also, Crutchfield is an excellent company to order from,, I've done business with them for 8 years now and have never had one problem from them(except once,, but got a gret deal from their error) & the service is IMO one of the best.
I have a plain kenwood 10" in my car right now and it performs really good,,, but I wouldn't buy another (unless I got the great deal I got on this one). They are good subs if your into just music quality and not worried about nocking pics off the walls of peoples houses as you drive down the street.
RF,,, i've heard many in others cars and the only thing that seems to be anything about them is the name put on them,, I was never impressed by them.
Any way it goes,, the are all quality made speakers from the standpoint of having home stereo sound in your car instead of impressing or pissing off the person next to you and at the prices/offers Crutchfield offers,,, you can't really go wrong if you're just looking to add some quality bass to your car stereo. Just my opinion

I set up a single 8 inch Kenwood Tornado in truck and ran it off of 1 channel of an Alpine Flex2 amp (50 watts) and it sounded fantastic. They just seem like a pretty decent sub to me.
As much as I like Cerwin Vega, I would shy away from the stealths. I just haven't heard one that sounded all that great. The Rockfords are gonna be a good solid sub as long as you put them in the right box and don't feed them too much power.
Just my $.02

I bought the kenwoods when they had them on sale last year and put one 12" kenwood tornado sub in the back of my taurus and it's decent but i'm probobly going to use both pretty soon. Clean sounding bass nothing that will jiggle your a$$hole though.
