looking for wire that is only hot on ignition

just curious, does anyone know where i can get a wire that is hot only when the key is on RUN or ACC? my fusebox does not have any slots in it. can i connect a wire directly to something inline with the ignition coil or something in the steering column?

Thanks,
-Jim

what's it for?

They make little connectors that you can use to jump off the fuses in your fuse panel. They piggy-back onto one of the spades of the fuse.

If you're looking to use one under the hood, then I dunno. I've never needed to do that. Sorry.

There's an ignition wire that runs to your coil. Wouldn't advise doing that but people do. There has to be a place in your fuse panel. My 85 and 91 both have them. If not there's an ignition wire for sure that goes to your HU also. You could splice into that one also. Several of them.

its on your steering column, its a big thick pink wire, its only hot on ACC. its kind of near the floor part of the column, u have to take the hush panels out to get to it, and drop the column, its kind of a PITA to use, but if u really want it go for it, i will almost guaruntee that u will have cuts on your arm lol
