3 10"s or 2 12"s

Assuming you are talking about the same brand, would it generally be better to have 2 12 inch subs or 3 10 inch subs? I picked up a new box today with 3 10"s, and I'm curious if I made the right decision. TIA

3 10's will give you crisp bass...the tricky part would be getting your amps configured right (you may need an extra one). My feeling is that bigger, not more is better.
