CD Players in a GTA
CD Players in a GTA
I was thinking about getting a CD player for my GTA, since I have a tape player, but I was told a story from a fellow GTA owner that his car went ape**** when he removed his OEM tape deck and replaced it with a third-party stereo + CD player, because the frequency on the third-party stereo didn't match the electrical frequency the system was expecting. In addition, he has the stereo controls on the steering wheel (like I do), and hence, the car thought that the OEM tape deck had been stolen, and the stereo (and some electrical accessories) wouldn't work due to the car's VATS.
Is this true, with respect to the fact that GTAs with the stereo controls on the steering wheel, do not like third-party aftermarket stereo systems?
Just curious; if this is the case, one of those Sony Discmans with the tape player interface doesn't sound too shabby.
Thanks.

A disc man with a tap adapter sucks...
No your steering wheel controls wont work. Yes you should be able to install an aftermarket cd player. No i wouldnt recomend doing it your self.
