Subwoofer question?

Ok i've posted my setup before, but i got another question. I am gonna build a custom sub box for my 89 firebird formula that fits in to the well of the trunk. What i wanted to know is will the 2 12" cerwin vega:vega series subs work with this setup?(Its not sealed, the subs are facing up toward the opening of the hatchback.) Would this affect these subs or not? Just checking for your guys' opinions. Would it be better sealed? I appreciate all your opinions! Thanks, I know this is a lot to ask!

Those subs require 2.5 cubic feet of airspace EACH, plus port space. That's going to ring in at nearly 6 total cubic feet of airspace. That means that you'll be building a box that takes up the ENTIRE trunk space all the way to the seat. I love the Vega subs, but I wasn't prepared to sacrifice that much real estate, so I got subs with more modest enclosure needs. You may want to consider doing the same.
