86 rear 6x9's?
When I went to go look at what I was working with in my 86Z i noticed the previous owner cut the plastic molding to mount the speakers. Now I know in my 88 there is a piece of sheat metal that the 6x9's screw into. I was just thinking of building a small bax or something that will go in between the interior speaker cover and the outer car shell. Has anyone here done something like that and doeknow what I am talking about.

That sounds like a good idea, putting a box in there. That might improve some sound quality. Did the other owner cut around the screw holes for the original speakers?
>if you put the box in just make sure you put some closed air speakers in there not open.
hack at it

See thats the thing. Where there would normally be a place to mount the speakers there is none. He must of got a stripper model from the factory with just T-tops. He cut the plastic molding under what everyone knows is the speaker cover. It is done really really bad and I want my baby to look good. I have a pair or closed air 6x9's already and I was just wondering if it sounded like a good idea.
