Reference vs Perfect?
Reference vs Perfect?
OK i made up my mind im going with Infinity. They tend to have all around better power handling then the Alpines. Plus i think they give off better bass and slightly crisper highs then the Alpine Type-R series. Now my question is which line should i use. Reference or Perfect. I was lookin at ol Cruthfield and the the one thing i noticed is that the speakers have different freq. ranges the Perfects not being quite as low but a few Hz higher then the Reference line. Is this a good thing? Isn't anything below 100Hz more or less sub territory and would be more or less inaudible from a 6.5? I was also going to put a plain old 6.5 coax to replace the 6x9s. The 6x9s have more bass response but the 6.5 just sound more.....right!! I enjoyed testing most of these speakers with my test song "Home Alone" by R.Kelly. Love that song. However nothing ever seems right on some panel board in some room that has no size relation to the inside of my car. Cash isn't really a question. I don't want extensive though.

perfects, hands down heh.. its all around a cleaner sound.. if you're audiophilic at all, if you care about *music* and not thump.. its the perfects
numbers mean absolutely nothing with infinity.. get the high-end perfects and you wont be sorry

Your best bet is to go and listen to the different types yourself. What sounds good to one person is terrible to another.
