Which would be best . . .
Which would be best . . .
:sillylol: Hahahha. . . your curiosity got the best of you now you have to answer my question or else . . .
My question is as follows:
I need your guys opinions on what i should do with this, i can get 2 subs (fosgate HE2) for $89 a pop, cause my friend works at best buy, and i get an amp 150x2 for like 150. . . the HE2 is dual voice coil, so i could pump 300w into 1 sub at 4 ohms, or i can run 300 to 2 at 2 ohms, which would be best and why

My understanding:
300w to one 12" will give you will give you better SQ and allow you to turn down the gains on your amplifier which reduces distortion.
300w to two 12" will give you higher SPL.
Generally, the more cone area you have, the louder your system will be. But a lot of power going to a one decent sub will yield better sound quality.
My preference:
I'd go for the SQ setup with one sub getting more power. But that's me. If you like boomy bass -- which works really well with rap/R&B setups -- then use more subs.

I agree that one sub with alot of power is nice...and sounds great. I go with cone area though. We have a hatch back so we get direct results from cone area. Its all about it. Those are good subs but if you put that mush power to it it may blow and that is no good. If you run two of them at half power to 3.4 they should pound and not distort!
