Where is the computer bypass wire for timing
I have an 85 TA and i can not find the computer bypass wire. My stickers are gone off of the hood. I am not sure it has the wire but if it don't what is the timing normally set on? I know the tbi cars are set to zero and the computer takes care of the rest. I have it set by ear now and it seems to run fine but i would like to set it right. Any info will help.

Carb cars have a four-wire flat connector coming from underneath the distributor going to the engine harness (exactly where it is routed seems to vary from car to car). Mine goes between the distributor and accelerator cable, then back to the firewall harness.

If you have the low output LG-4 305 you set it to 0. If it's the L-69 HO 305 I beleive the setting is 6 degrees BTDC.
Either way, you can EASILY advance it 4 degrees from it's stock setting for more performance, assuming you are using a stock chip.
