Okay , here is the carb I want.... It says as shown in the picture that ITS NOT FOR COMPUTER CONTROLLED ENGINES. I feel stupid now .... is my current carb computer controlled .... its the stock carb setup for an 82 Z28. If my current carb is computer controlled what do I have to do for this carb to work for me ????

I think companies put that in there to cover their butts. God knows we can't have people unplugging their CC parts of their cars. You can run that carb. I am thinking you have a CC Q-jet. Just unplug all the wires, and plug in the electric choke on the new one. This might throw codes also. While your at it, put in a non-CC dist. This would help also.

Hope this helps.......

Your car probably isn't computer controlled. Look for a vacuum advance can on the distributor. If you have one, it's non-CC.

Andy check my post in CC...

Its a Canadian Z (sorry, Zed ) so I doubt its CC... my 83 was CC originally but thats because it was required in the states...

So I don't know 100% for sure... But like I said before and it was suggested in here... look for the vacuum advance canister if ya got its, you dun have to worry about it being CC or not

its the little silvery thang that looks like a rounded triangle, has a hose going onto it, and is on the passenger side of the car
