Computer Controlled QJet Trouble

I turned the car on tonight and the car was running waaaaay rich. I got on to the highway thinking maybe it just needed to warm up a little. Then the "Check Engine" light begins blinking rapidly. It does this for about 20 minutes and then stays on the entire way down the highway. I get it home and let it sit and idle for a few minutes and the light then goes off. But it's still running rich.

Does this sound like my TPS took a crap on me? Everything in the carb was in spec when I rebuilt it a few months ago.

Your car is telling you something. The first thing I would do is pull the error code(s).

Check the tech section on how to pull codes. If you tell us the code, there's a half dozen people that can tell you what your problem is without guessing.

Assuming it's for your '80 Vette (btw: nice!) then you'll be looking for OBD-1 code retrieval.

Ahh I'm glad I dont have a ccc.

My guess would be the MCS took a dump. That usually causes a rich condition. The TPS would be more of an erratic idle/surging. Unplug the MCS connection and see if the car acts the same, do tyhe same for the TPS but my money is on the MCS.
