What to remove during carb swap
What to remove during carb swap
I am gonna do a tbi-carb swap in about 2 weeks on my '92 RS I am thinking a Performer RPM intake, Performer 600cfm electric choke carb, and an open element K&N, at this time I will also swap in a new cam (dont know which yet) my new distibuter will be an MSD. I am not sure what kindof fuel pump to get yet any suggestions on that would help. But what I really want to know is How Much horse power gain I can expect? and the big one: What other things can I take out(o2 sensors etc) and where the different things are located. Also what cars did the Bowtie and/or double hump heads come on(for project Monte Carlo)
Thanks guys,
Stephen

Your existing in-tank electric fuel pump will work with the carb will work just fine as long as you use a bypass regulator to get pressure down to about 6 PSI. TBI systems run at about twice that usually an it will flood out a carb.
As for the rest of it, I believe there is a tech article on the board that discusses this exact swap.
I beleive the Performer RPM is a bit much for that engine and will also cause hood clearance problems with the carb and air cleaner. I'd go with the standard Performer intake.
