Carb swap question

Alright i have the 87 305 camaro with the rochester quadra jet. the carb is old, the choke sometimes work, and whenever i plus the choke light in the car starts reving up high, so i dont ever have it plugged in. I want to get a new carb with mech secondaries and a manual choke that will fit on the stock manifold and match up with whatever computer stuff there is.. and vaccum lines.
any suggestions?
thanks

Go here first https://www.thirdgen.org/messgboard/...ML/001430.html , then decide if you still want to do what you are proposing.

1st, there is no way to "match up with whatever computer stuff there is". You'll get the idea as you read through the other post.

Maybe I misunderstood "match up with whatever computer stuff there is". Do you mean "replace the computer controlled functions with mechanical components"?

Either way, the other post will get you started, at least.

what i meant by that was that there is a plug on the front and then another plug that goes to the choke . whats the difference between the carter quadrajets and the rochester? and how hard would it be to put a manual choke on the stock carb?
