what should i do

ok i cant decide what to do...here in a month im getting some bills and its time to mod the sports coupe...for about 1300$ and misc costs i can get vortec heads, edelbrock carb vortec intake, cam (not sure what yet), fuel pressure reg, distributer, and edelbrock carb or i can sped 850$ and get toreur 305 heads, lt1 cam, and a edelbrock TBI intake...although it will be more to go carb seems to me like thats a much better combo and easier to tune...throw in the 300$ for the stuff to burn chips and its about the same price. i kinda want to go with vortec heads because i do plan on a 350 someday and it would be easier to switch over. what do you all think? i know people here are pro carb but from my standpoint what do you think? ive already replaced alot of the sensors and electronics so the TBI is running good...

Automatic 95GTs are VERY slow. I'd say with that 1300 get a 350 block. Find some L98 heads and throw a 220/230 cam in it with about .500 lift. Add an Edelbrock RPM intake and 750 cfm carb and you'll have a very strong 350 that's easily capable of 13s. Add a 5 speed and you'll go even faster

Of the two, your carbed idea with the Vortecs is by far going to give you more hp AND be easier to live with.

He's right. But on a 305 I dont see the Vortecs making a whole lot of power. Start with a 350 first then think about head options.

camaro performance magazine built a 325hp 305 with vortecs...they were milled down tho...i dont want to pull the 305 until i have to. for now id just like to put everything on the 305 and save for a brand new 350 maybe the l98 one with all the rotating assembly i dont exactly have the time right now to be swapping motors i have school and work and everything. im hoping to swap all the **** im buying wont take more than a week of straight work. this is all going on the 305 for now but it will go on a 350 someday

hey TBI305 this is 91RSrider.why did your post get deleted over on the TBI board?i went to go look at your post about it and that got deleted also.im thinkin its because of me,since i told you to go to carb.someone apparently thought i was going to start a huge flame war over it like i have nothing better to do with my time.i guess thats what you get for stating an opinion over there in that dumbass TBI land.oh yeah and now my screenname wont work,so i had to make this one up so i can post again.im not banned, and no one warned me about being suspended or anything,it just wont let me do anything .i dunno,im just pissed.well anyways do what i told you to do.go carb and keep the 305 for now.as im sure youve seen over here everyone thats done the EFI-CARB swap is pleased, and have little or no regrets.and as far as the 305 goes,im figuring that once im done doing what im gonna do to mine,it should be a mid 13 second 305 car(based on NJSPEEDER running a 14.2 on the stock peanut cam and edelbrock heads).if ya wanna know what im doin, just give me a PM and ill be happy to share my "recipe" with you.
