needle and seat questions...

well im trying to track down a high RPM hesitation problem and someone mentioned to rebuild the carb and put a high flow edelbrock needle and seat on it... when i went to look up this high flow needle and seat (p/n EDL-1980) it says not for use in a CC qjet. can i get away with this part anyways?? or is it pointless to upgrade this part for my 350? i have already taken care of the hangers and rods, and a new fuel pump and filter. opinions?

Hmmmm, not "intended" for use on computer controlled carburetors.

Never heard that it won't fit or doesn't work. But, have't tried it, either.

Edelbrock's web site says peformance q jet parts not recomended for use on cc carbs. the needle and seats are not that expensive. (one of my buddies paid $12 Canadian for his). I'd say it wouldnt hurt to try it.

I doubt you'll use more than the standard needle and seat that will come in the kit will supply. If the float is set properly and your fuel pump is doing its job, you won't run out of fuel.

My 396 was well supplied when I had the Edelbrock 1901 Performer q-jet on it. It had the standard needle and seat in it. They do put the .149 in their 850 CFM Performer RPM q-jet.

ehh im not to worried bout it, im just gonna use whats in the kit. hey five7kid, you think 750cfm's is to much for my engine? i was gonna do the mod where it allows the AV to open all the way, but i was gonna put a set screw in it so i can adjust it, then i can test it at the track.

ps..sorry i didnt finish all my emails before i wrote this
