Need tips for tuning Holley Avenger!!!!
hey guys, got the avenger 670 carb. now, i also installed a holley blue pump (mechanical) to insure the proper fuel that it needs. i have been playing with the air screws on the sides of the carb, but i have also been playing with the red looking thing on the side that has do with fuel-------i think. anyway, i was hoping that someone has some tips to tuning this carb. anything will help

oh yeah, how much would it help to invest in a lean/rich gauge? is that the key to tuning a carb'd car? anyone know what brand is cheap----but good? dont want to spend too much money, just started college. and where in the **** pit do you recomend i mount this thing---looking for something clever, so no a-pillar ideas

The first thing you need to do is put it back like it came. The next thing is to learn what the parts are, what they are called, and what they do. i'd suggest Alex Walordy's book on Holleys, I can't recall the name but it's something about Holley carbs. It's yellow iIRC. Your local speed shop probably has it. It will teach you alot about how those carbs work. Then you'll be ready to work on it; as it is, if someone told you to adjust something or change some part, we'd spend several posts trying to explain what it looks like, where it is, what it does, what results to look for when you change it, etc. which is not real productive.
