Tim,
Describe how the power develops through the rpms with your engine.
I find that the secondaries don't arrive until 3500 rpm but then it feels more like a nitrous shot than anything else! No kidding, I get a thump in the back and the Camaro surges forward under serious new found hp and just HAULS!
Is your's like that?

Well, I'm not sure I'd describe it quite like that. It starts pulling pretty much above 2500, but there isn't any "secondary kick", especially in a rolling start.
Believe it or not, feeling the secondaries kick in isn't a good thing. Try a little more tension on the AV. I had a hard time accepting this, but if you can feel the secondaries "kick in", then you're really experiencing "bog". Same thing goes for vacuum secondary carbs. After I accepted the wisdom of this approach and delayed the secondaries on the '57, my 60' and 330' times started going down. The Camaro I haven't fiddled with as much (certainly not documented with time slips), as it seemed to be happy where it was.

Interestingly, since I hooked up the cruise control to the carb, the secondaries haven't started coming in until 4000 rpm. This is strange. Before the cam and heads install the secondaries just came on smoothly, rolling in at about 2500 rpm, if I recall correctly.
Once the cam/heads were in it fell off to 3500 rpm, and now 4000.
Something is a little strange. I'll have to look over the AV tension this evening.
I wonder if my fuel filter is getting dirty?
