Anyone running a Road Demon?
I need a new carb for my daily driver (in sig.) becouse I just broke off part of the base on my Edelbrock. So I am looking at going with a Road Demon. Think this will fit my application? What gain did you notice, if any over your last carb?
Thanks,
Matt

Most would consider it too small for a 350. If they made a 750 version, I'm sure it would be more popular.
Did you already go ahead with the carb? Or, did you modify your sig in anticipation of it?
I don't know anyone who uses the Road Demon, but this will move it back to the top and perhaps get the attention of someone who does.

I have one...
I have one on my 305, making a little over 325 horse:
91' 305 TBI block with Vortec heads milled to 57cc and super thin .0015 gaskets = about 10.6:1 compression, Crane Cam, Edelbrock intake, Demon Carb, old style HEI, Hooker Headers w/custom y-pipe, and 3 inch back to a dynomax w/ 3.5 chrome pipes out back, Ram Air (air cleaner sticks out of hood and scoop is open),Crane ignition, w/accel wires, Torque conv. lockup switch and B+M shift kit, 3.23 Richmond gears and a Zexel POSI out back, Energy bushings, IROC springs, coil over shocks in rear, Centerline wheels w/ 275's out back
RUNS REALLY GOOD BUT: Hesitation is a bastard with these carbs if you already have tuning trouble. If you were doing fine with your edelbrock, be prepared for a few headaches. You should definately invest in a good vacuum gauge while you are at it.
As far as it being too small, possibly, but I don't think it will be a problem. Mine still runs a tad rich so you should be fine. You would be better off with a speed Demon though, an extra 130 bucks or so....

I forgot that they make a 725 cfm version. I was thinking 625 only.
Ignore the "too small" comment...

What???
I have a Summit Catalog right in front of me, they make a 725 cfm ROAD DEMON??? Since when???
Ok. ok. I spoke too soon.
I do not have the Road demon with the side hung floats, mine are center hung. I would definately buy the one I have over the side hung float crap, those are problems. Get a dual feed. It'll cost you an extra 60 bucks for the electric choke and the dual feed style, but it'll be worth it, and it doesn't look sissy either. But if you want to save money than I guess that if you need the 725 version, go for it.
