What kind of mods are we talking about? What do you intend to do with the car?Is emissions testing in your area?Give us more specific plans for the car and we can help you out more.If you are lookin to go 10's..yeah ditch the TPI.If you are required to have emissions and just want a nice fast cruiser..just mod the TPI.Give us more..

i do have emissions testing in my home of residence (TX), but am currently stationed at scott afb and do not need to have current registration. i don't really think i want to drag my car just be faster than the other guy who wants to challenge me on the streets. kinda looking to restore the car, interior more than engine wise though.

You could easily build a mid/high 13 second car with the TPI. I wouldnt recommend getting rid of the fuel injection unless you plan on doing a lot of mods.

As you are looking to have a nice looking cruiser than can holds its own at the local stop light wars..keep the TPI system intact.A nice cam along with runners, aftermarket base plate, headers and cat back, and a few other mods will give you the results you are looking for out of the car. Then if you ever relocate to an area where emissions are a primary concern you will be safe being as you stuck with the TPI.Check out the TPI section of the board..all you need to do for ideas as far as mods can be found over there.
