Carb Idiot
Carb Idiot
Im having some serious problems with getting a good setting for my 750 Edelbrock carburetor. I have a 355 with a set of double hump heads, a Weind Stealth intake, and a .501/.501 lift cam,an Accel distibutor and coil. I bought the car the way it is now. I know absolutely nothing about carb tuning and have been completely unable to do anything with it. I had my mechanic remove the factory jets as reccomended by Summit and install what I believe were 107 primaries and 100 secondaries. I have noticed that under hard braking it seems to bog down and I have to give it a few revs to keep it from dying. The car is still running extremely rich and my idle is rather high about 1600 rpms any information I could get on these problems would be greatly appreciated.

I had a similar problem with my car bogging down when braking hard. This is probably the float level being set too high, and that could also mean why you are running rich. The float level would be the first thing i would check.
