6 pack

on my new engine i was thinking of puting on the edelbrock intake and put on 3 2 barrel carbs, like 3 webbers or something of that sort, what do you guys think, or should i just go with the good ol 4 barrel holly street advenger??

6-packs are a little more difficult to tune, and is defenitly more expencive, but is very original, and you can't beat the looks of 3 weber 2 barrels sitting on top of your engine, or sticking out of the hood. I would, if I had the cash and time to keep tuning them. From a power perspective, you might see a gain using the 6-pack over the 4-bbl, because the fuel distribution will be more even (The whole idea behind dual-quad as opposed to a large CFM carb).

You will not see a gain. In fact..you will see a considerable loss compared to a 4bbl. not to mention the extra cost and PITA they are.

FWIW, that was not the original idea behind them. It wasn't even for more cfm. Back in the day high flow needle/seat assemblies and high pressure fuel pumps weren't available. By going to several carbs you had more fuel flow area.

Needless to say that hasn't been the case for many decades now.
