Carbs 101

I am a noob when it comes to carbs. Can anyone explain to me how they work. I am planing to buy the Fastburn 385 or the ZZ4 crate engine some time next year and I'm still wrestling with which induction system to use. I've heard that TPI has some restrictions that a carb doesnt. Can someone explain how to operate a carb proberly along with things such as tuning?? I know it is going to be a lot to explain but any little bit would help. Thank you in advance.

Mitch

The basics of operation are the same, how they go about it differs slightly.
