Help converting to carb...
Hi everyone, I just finished installing a carbed motor in my 88 IROC. I removed all wiring except for the windshield wiper motor, blower motor, and starter wires. I am having problems with the alternator wires. There are 3 of them. A brown one that goes to a guage, a red one that goes to the starter, and a tan one that goes to the ecm. Since I removed the ecm I don't know what to do with that wire. Is my only option a one wire alternator? I heard that I can connect that wire to a 12 volt ignition source and the alternator will work fine that way. Is this true? Thanks for any help!

Yes that's true.
You can also use an older style externally regulated alternator if you want. It's pretty simple to wire.
