well the only way that you will have a problem is if you pull your ecm out of the car. other wise there is a relay behind the driver side kick panel that is for your vats so what you can do is cut one of the yellow wires that comes form the ignition switch and conect it to the green and white wire that goes to your nutural safty switch and you have desabeld you vats. on some models your vats controls your fuel pump or so i have heard but i am not sure, if so then you will have to reg something up for your fuel pump to. i have an 89 rs camaro and i have also converted to carb and this is what i had to do. also i put an after market fuel pump and wired it up so thats why i dont know if this will effect you fuel pump.

No. VATS is only keyed to the little chip embedded in the ignition key. It doesn't know what motor is installed under the hood. It only knows whether it's OK to send power to the starter or not, based on whether it thinks you've inserted the correct ignition key or not.

Aite ive set everything up, except for I havent attached my ignition cable to the + on my mallory coil because well...I donno which one my ignition cable is lol. Im not 100 percent but I remember on my old coil it was one side HEI and the other side had like an electrical outlet that you see on the wall in your house. Just smaller. When i swapped my distributor and coil one of those just came off because its a new distributor and coil and didnt need it anymore. The other i just unplugged and its sitting there. One Red and One White Wire, donno if its that at all so could please somebody show me where the ignition wire is so i can plug it up 2 my new coil. Thank you.

ive got a question regarding this swap.....

obviously your not gonna leave the whole tbi harness in the car so what wires does the vats need to still operate? also what wires would the cruise control need to operate if i fabed a bracket for it? basically what wires can be unpinned (dont wanna cut anything so it looks nice and neat) from the harness?
