HElp me out..cuz i think i will rebuild
currently i have an 82 crossfire injected 305. I figured even if I upraded the ecm or even went to tpi, I couldnt really touch 300+ hp without spending fortunes.
My neigbor gave me his 350 4 bolt main ($300 cnd), which was original engine off of a 69 camaro. I am really planning on boring it out to 355ci, putting a Demon 750 cfm carb, a cam with 224/224 duration, edelbrock air gap manifold, high flow carbed fuel pump, 1 3/4 full headers, 8.8 accel plug wires, new lifters, rockers, rods, new bearings, porting and polishing heads, 14 x 3 k&n open element with massive cowl induction hood, rebuild th350 tranny, 3.42 posi, and I think thats all folks.
WIth the above, im sure ill get less gas mileage than the 305 crossfire but please tell me anyone that i might see atleast 350+ horsepower and around low 14's.

ok I made my final decision, the 4 bolt 350 with low - mid range rpm target
It will have following done:
- be bored 0.030 over with new pistons and full bearings.
- edelbrock performer air gap manifold(idle-5500) with port matched heads
- cam that will work with performer air gap power range.
-edelbrock 750 cfm(w/electric ckoke) performer carb
-1.6 roller rockers, hydraulic lifters, strong pushrods, stiff springs
-holley 7 psi electric(in tank) fuel pump w/1-6plb regulator.
With this setup I should see atleast 350+ hp.
