Is this a good Q-Jet?
I got a stock Q-jet from a Buick 455 off of ebay for $70. Would this be good for a 383? I'm just looking for any info on this carb, thanks.

Yea... i think they are bigger than most other Q-jets too, cause that was the biggest engine to get them before the smog era wonders, like the 200hp 454s.

a well tuned quadrajet is HARD to beat for anything less than a race car. small primaries for economy, huge secondaries to balance out the small primaries, and = BIG FLOW, almost 800 cfm.
very easy to change metering rods, there is a book on quadrajets that i highly recommend, from HP books, the only downside to them (read: reason one isnt on my truck) is the fact that you have to use a spacer or a special manifold.
they rock, its just that simple.
