help please im getting mad.

I just rebuilt my 1406 edelbrock carb (electric choke) and replaced the plugs (they were a little black, looked like it was running rich. I got the car running and take it out and floor it, it takes off then all of a sudden it dies. it turns over but wont fire ????? Im SOOO confused, could i have flooded it in like 15-20 seconds of driving? Help please, what can i check? should i rejet it really lean and see if that helps? and i KNOW i did the carb right. it was doing this before.

You said it was doing this before? What year car? Does it have an electric fuel pump.. If it does and the pump only primes when you turn the key then shuts off you wouldn't be getting enough gas to drive for more than a few secs.

Check to see why it died. Look at the plugs to see if they are fouled or wet with fuel after it dies.

Then open up the carb and see how much fuel you got in the bowls... too much / not enough etc.
Check to see if you got good spark at the plugs.
You gotta do some checking first to see what's going on.
You know it could be carb or it could be ignition.
