I was looknig into a new carb for the 350, and a buddy of mine said his friend at work runs brush run races, he said that if i gave him 120.00 to rebuild the quadrajet carb, it would be the best thinig i have ever seen. Can this be? i thought these were junk?

anyone ever rebuilt these to that kind of talk?

They are an interesting carb. You either love 'em or hate 'em, it seems.

There are a lot of stock class racers that don't have any choice and do just fine with them.

Time to hit the parking lot and open up them secondaries...

 

Sure, I rebuild them all the time. For a lot of 4x4 guys they were the carb of choice for a long time. They're an excellent street/strip carb. The reason most don't like them is that they are a lot more complex than others, making them more of a challenge to dial in.

 

Always loved q-jets, but I come from a family that knows how to tune them. I was raised to hate holley carbs! Here is a thought: I went to advance auto parts and bought my last rebuilt q-jet for about the same price he wants to do yours. got the hi po version with a warranty, thing works great on my 11:1 358. Might want to check it out...
