i have an 85 T/A and from 1500-2500 it shakes. What could be the problem??

well its a vibration but motor isnt moveing to make it the engine. could it be miss fireing? cause plugs and wires havnt been changed in 2 years i picked this car up for 300 bucks. i plan on doing a tune up this week distributar cap wires and plugs and if it still does it il prob do timeing. would that be it?
