took my car to performance shop

i took my car to strate line racing to have it tuneing and install and new egnition system. anyway today i was takeing a look at the eninge and i found that they disconnected my vacuume advance and pulgged all the holes. i cant figure out y they would do this, should i give them a call and ask whats up with that or is this a common thing for built engines???

They may have had to if you did not have an adjustable vacuum advance unit. If yours was just stock then you might want to replace it with an adjustable unit and hook it back up.

A performance timing curve plus a factory vacuum advance would just be too much advance in some cases.

a common thing for drag racers to do is to use and setup only mechanical advance, and disconnect the vac advance..


its fine in race cars, but its not the best thing for street performance... kinda hurts your gas miliage...
