Holley 4165 Tuning
Holley 4165 Tuning
I recently switched from a Q-Jet 750 to a Holley 4165 650 cfm which is a Q-Jet replacement. It has mechanical secondaries and when I slam it at idle it'll die out. I've had ZERO experience with this type of carb so what's a good starting point to eliminate this bog?
Stock squiters are 25 up front and 37 in the back. I've changed sizes and it doesn't really seem to do anything. The accelerator pump cam is white on the primaries and brown on the secondaries. When I put the brown cam into the "2" position the bog seemed to get a little bit worse.
As far as jetting goes I've gotten the best 1/4 MPH with 62/85 jets so I'm not so sure if I want to mess with those.
Just wondering if some of you guys can tell me if there's something that I can do to lead me in the right direction before I start spending more $.

Sometimes you can't tune the car because it's not the problem, you have to tune the driver instead.
I take it this is list # 6210?
