What carb/intake should I use?
What carb/intake should I use?
I have a 355 with 64cc heads, 1.94/1.50 valves. Compression is about 10.2:1. The block is a 1969 and the heads are from my 88GTA (centerbolt.) I have a hydraulic .464" lift cam with .226/.226 duration at .050. Also using 1.5 ratio harland sharp roller rockers. My question is, what would be the best intake/carb combination I can/should use with this engine setup? I was thinking Performer RPM with a Holley 650dp, but I don't think they make performer rpm intakes that fit my centerbolt heads. Any comments are very appreciated.

Don't waste your money buying an intake designed for centerbolt heads. Buy a regular Performer RPM and elongate the 4 center bolt holes on the intake. As for a carb a 650 would be great but I'd go with a 750 so it gave me room to grow incase you do some more mods.
I thought about doing that, buying an old intake and using it on my centerbolt heads, but when you say elongate the bolt holes, what do you mean? Cause they go in on a sheity angle, do they make some kind of angled spacer that goes in between the boltheads and the intake??

Just take a deburr or something and grind the bolt holes so they're (____) shaped instead of (_) shaped. The intake bolt will seat funny against the intake but it doesn't matter because those bolt holes don't go through any water jackets or anything ...they'll seal fine. I've done this on like 3 intakes and have never had a problem.
