is this carb ok for me

i got a 305 with a mild cam hooker headers and a hooker cat-back other then that its stock is the edelbrock 600 o.k. to use with my car.

Anything in particular wrong with your stock carb that you'd be willing to spend several hundred dollars replacing what's a better choice than the Edelbrock?

BTW, the Edelbrock won't mount directly to a stock intake manifold, if you still have that.

They all have the air valve secondary set-up.
