Need new carb??

Soon i put cam spring and lifter in my 305 LG4 87 and i dont know if my stock quadrajet wanna take it... new jets or stay with it?? or change the carb to a holley or edelbrock?

The carb is able to handle more cam, without any doubt. It's a roller cam now, though, so you don't need to replace the lifters if you put in an upgrade cam that is designed to be a factory roller replacement. You will need new springs, though.

Your engine is suffering from horrible exhaust, horrible air cleaner, and pretty lame cam - in that order. Then you could make a case for the heads needing porting and larger intake valves. The stock intake manifold is okay, but could be improved. By the time you do all of the above, the stock torque converter will be holding you back.

The carb, though, is more than up to the task any street-driveable 305 could ask of it with just a little secondary tuning. Or 350, for that matter.
