Trying to choose an intake.

Im trying to pick out an intake to use, and i just dont see the purpose in spending 175$ for a edelbrock performer rpm intake for vortec l31 heads.. i figured id just buy one of the jap intakes off ebay, but im not sure which one to choose.. can anyone give me some insight on what a good intake would be to buy from ebay. i figure for saving 50$ or whatever loosing 5hp or whatever isnt a big deal specially when im pushing over 400 anyways.. im running l31 vortec heads though that are ported and polished. if anyone could help me out it would be great i appreciated it. ill be running a holley 650 vac secondary also if that helps any.. thanks!

LOL, they may or may not be jap. but hes talking bout the generic brand intake, like this. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...478191072&rd=1

I dont really see what would the probem with them as long as the casting is decent quality.

I have that intake. Not bad at all in my opinion. But - if you're into something more showy, get an Edelbrock. The casting on these are not as smooth on the outside of the runners etc...a bit rougher, and a bit more casting flash. Inside the ports and everything else is pretty much identical.

BTW: It's made by Professional Products. I've known about them for quite a few years. I think they've sold thier intakes in Canada longer than they have here in the USA.
