Ok, I did a search already, but I don't feel comfortable looking at other things until I check my choke adjustent. Here's the rundown.
I just installed a Edelbrock performer intake on my 1985 lg4 305.
I got a newly rebuilt quadrajet, for this model of car and engine from autozone. (It was a real rochester quadra jet, just rebuilt by some company.)
I slapped a fresh tune up on it.
Here is what I am expirencing. The car starts up and runs without hesitation first thing in the morning, but is not in a high idle like you would think it should be. It's been in the 40's overnight here the past week or so. It does go into a high idle and stays there if i start driving. For example, I'll be cruising along, and then come to a stop sign, or light, and go to start slowing down, and the idle does drop some, but stays round mid 1000 rpm. If I 'blip' the throttle real quick, it will go back down to where it should be, at about 650 rpm. It doesnt do this all the time, but more often than not. Once I get back into the gas, no matter how hard i hit it, it seems to go right back into high idle. This is annoying and I really think it's just chocke related. So my question is, can someone please tell me EXACTLY how to adjust the choke. THANK YOU A TON. I will forever be in your debt, whoever tells me.
Also, the car runs great. No miss or anything. (And yes, this intake really made a noticeable difference in my little LG4.)

Nevermind. Went out today to start messing with it from what information i did gather, and the car wouldnt even stay idling this time. Started smelling gas real heavily and tried starting it again. Kept it running somewhat but i had to keep tapping the throttl. Smelled of gas something fierce. This led me to condemn the rebuilt carb i just put on it. Took it back to autozone, they gave me another, and i just got back from a city test drive for about an hr. NO PROBLEMS!! This baby runs like a raped ape. Idles great, accelrates with NO BOG, even at WOT. Tested TPS voltage with my scantool before taking it out. It read .65 volts at no throttle, and went to 4.55 volts at WOT. I'm so excited to finally have my Z running like it was ment to. This Edelbrock Performer intake really compliments the performance exhaust and Edelbrock headers that were already on it when i bought it. I also put on a new T.V. cable, and adjusted it, and WOW. VERY NICE shifting now. You can feel it engage now, unlike with my old out of adjustement cable. Thanks for all help given guys, now my car is fun to drive again.
