TPS, what functions?

On a carbed motor, what is the TPS used for?
.
Torque converter lockup?
PE for the distributor?
Something else?
.
How many different TPS voltages, are really needed?,
assuming that the carb is non-cc.

If you're running no ECM, you are only missing it for tq. converter lockup.

What voltage levels are significant,
for the ECM to operate the tq converter lockup?
.
My guess is :
lockup is not allowed at very low TPS voltage.
.
any others?

not sure what all is gonna be needed to get the ECM to lockup the converter. Definitely park neutral, VSS, TPS, and temperature inputs.
