Modifying the stock vac advance can to adjustable
I figure this topic is more used by people using carbs so...
Can I elongate the mounting holes on the vacuum can to change the amount of advance? If it does then which direction will lessen the advance?..FYI The mechanical advance is welded at 10 degrees and it comes in at 3000.I only get 26 degrees in total right now.I cant lower the initial enough since I have a fairly big cam.

Changing the mounting won't do anything, you need to change the limits of the movement of the rod in the slot.
Do you want to decrease the amount of vacuum advance? Get a Crane 99619-1 limiting plate.
