Holley Red Fuel Pump Qs
I bought a Holley red pump, rebuilt from an ebay seller. It was a good deal, so I just bought it to keep on standby, and it didn't have any instructions with it.
Well, I finally ended up using it and it only works for about 5 min then shuts off. Then after it cools for 1/2 hr or so, it works for another 5 min, then shuts off.
I'm just wondering if there's something I did wrong with the wiring? I just connected + and - to it, that's all.
Does anyone have an explanation for this trouble?
Thanks

Is there a relay/circuit breaker hooked inline or is it straight to the battery? If one or the other it's possible they are just over heating. I went through numerious cheap relays until I finally bought a $20 Bosch unit that's been great ever since.
If straight to battery/ground possible impeller contamination, remove bottom cover to expose area where impellers are to see if debris is stuck/hindering operation.
Or it's just possible the motor itself if going south, hence buyer getting rid of it touting "rebuilt"...happens all the time.
