Am I underating HP on my 305!!!!!!

I would have said LG4 but it isnt anymore. The mods I made where small and mostly factory stuff. the car is 3360 lb 86 sports coupe. The engine was 9:5:1 but I added a felpro gasket in the short block refreshing. Thicker gasket lower compression I est around 9:3:1 now. The cam I added was made fun of because it is smaller than the L69 cam( my cam is 390 on intake and 401 on the exhaust with I think 198 dgrees of duration).
I have added the L69 aircleaner(semi open, 14 inch 3 inch tall filter with chrome top).
The car has 3:45 gears it stals around 2100-2200. The computer carb quit, so I added a mid 70s Q-jet, finaly added an older dist with a recurve kit( I will be putting the cc dist and carb back on when i get the carb running right. The exhaust is a 2 1/2 inch(no cat) with an I beleive an 80s series blowmaster with 3 inch in 2 1/2 out. I have rebuilt the suspension with stock stuff( including lower control arm bushings, should of used poly ureithane.
konis in back kyb struts, stock f-41 springs( original 175k). added quick ratio steering box and 88-90 Iroc-Z wheels( have always wanted them wheels!) 23 or 24 mm rear sway bar, stock up front( I beleive 30 mm?).
Ok sorry this is so long but with the 235/55 tires I have, the car will smoke them! No problem, flash the converter . I havnt tried dead stop yet I will tomorrow. Im getting at this car runs great I was est hp at about 180, but after tonight Im thinking I at the LBP tpi level. Please give me your input, maybe Im dreaming, Let me know.

Sounds like the stuff you did made it run much stronger than it did before, but nothing you did to it except the exhaust system seems like it would free up much power. The cam you put in sounds like the same one in my 350, which IIRC, is the 929 cam. Great cam for low end grunt, but not much above 3500 or 4000.... a truck cam basically.

Sounds like you got yourself a very healthy car though!

Tried the dead stop. It still smokes the tires half way through 2nd gear. I think the carb and setup is dead on.

My memory is incorrected the car did not smkoe the tires 1/2 through 2nd gear from a dead stop.

You could go to a drag strip, and figure out your horsepower after getting some 1/4 mile times.

Sounds like you're making some good power.

I think the converter is making it take off better. I guess if you make enough small mods it adds up. I cant wait to put a 700r4 in my berlinetta. It has a 350 with bigger cam, 3 inch exhaust, highflow manifolds. edelbrock intake, and only weighs 3160.
With a zz4 type engine that car should be a rocket.
