from tpi to carb
the pass month after my rebuild ive had to many probelms with all this tuning and workin with the tuned port injection system. im giving up on it cuz ive boughten everything new too much the ecm, jet chip, 24lbs injectors, bbk tb , gms fuel pump, all sensors tps iac egr knock maf relay, bbk adj fuel pressure regulator, and paid to get it diagnosed and get it timed right when i am thinkin o couldve simply gone carb. ive done everything i can think of except for the mass air flow sensor and distributor. so what can i do what good set up with carb? what can i keep and what would i have to change? any pictures of any sick set ups from tpi to carb? or whats the power gain if so?

There are several posts on this board concerning what you are looking for (FI to Carb). Now if you are going with a Non-CC carb, there are several things you have to change and do. One is you would need a new non CC Disty, as well as if you have a 700r4, you will need to get the proper brackets for it, and also you may have to read up on the 700r4 TC lockup.. there is a Thorttle position sensor in the TB, or on the CC-carb that interacts with the tranny. Pretty much if you go with a Holley or Edlebrock carb ( Non - CC Carbs) You pretty much have to eliminate most of the electronics controling the engine.. You will also need an Intake as well. Carefull with the combinations of intake / carbs. Some you will have very little room under the hood (for example, an Edlebrock performer intake with a Holley 4160 carb, it only leaves about 2 inches of space between the air horn and the hood, so you will have air flow restriction, i know. that is what i have, and I have a new hood now because of it so I could fit a real air cleaner on it lol.)

well its just not workin out for me. so im pretty much thinkin of non computer controled system i guess just the tranny runin with the computer? oh how would that work? what about the electric fuel pump i am runing in the back do i eliminate that to a mechanical one?? also concerned with the ignition system like the coil etc. or the tc lock up how would that work? i know i wil have to rid of many wiring but i think its the best way to go
