help!!!!!

ok so it all started on thursday when i got my liscense i got in the car it started right up, pulled away after lettin it warm up and went to the gas station( about 4 blocks away) and as im pullin in it dies and i figured ok i was out of gas so i filled it up, hit the key and it didnt start so i poped the hood and gas was allover my manifold like in puddles and it was shooting up thru the pump arm, its a quadrajet so right there in the parking lot at about 100 i skipped school, i took the quadrajet off and went home and got my holley, put it on and towed it to the garage casue it still didnt start. now i got it runnin but theres some problems so here it goes. its a holley 4160 by the way with an auto choke

ok say im doing 35 down the road nice and smoothe and i hit the brakes slowly, my car completely dies. i have plain hose going from the brake booster to the carb, is that bad? could it be like sucking together and closing? or even in the driveway this morning i backed out and hit the brakes and it died??? whats up with that?

also my choke dosent do anything at all, i can hook it up and un hook it and nothing even moves? could the coil thing be messed up?

ok last one, when in doing about 100 down the street, im at about 4 grand and it wont go any higher it seems like it hits a rev limiter but i know it dosnet cause there issint one and i dont think the carb is too small cause its 600 cfm on a 305, whats up with that? also i never felt my secondaires kick in, could they be not opening?

im hoping to get this crap fixed tonight, well fixed enought that i can drive it to school tommorrow so help guys.... i going to get the plates for it and register it now so i really hope someone replies before like 5 lol plz help guys later

If that's miles per hour, and you're serious about that, then I think I'll just delete this thread. I wouldn't want the Board to be implicated in any deaths.

check to make sure your idle speed is at least 700 rpm in gear if it is check your float level to make sure it is set properly. the fuel should just barly trickle out the sight plug hole

As far as the brake booster, I tapped the manifold and connected the brake booster straight to the manifold. That allowed me to hook the PCV up to the vaccum port on the lower pass side of the carb. Seemed to run a little smoother that way.

btw...i have had my 305 much higher than 100(ON A CLOSED ROAD AWAY FROM TRAFFIC), maybe you have a weak ignition? just a thought
also, use cation when running your car at high speeds. when i just got my liscence, i drove like a maniac all over the roads...$1,000 worth of tickets and a couple near death experiences later i have matured and understand that there is a time and a place for everything...public roads are not a place to race a car- find a local drag strip
