Hi all, I have a friend who is getting rid of his car completely because his engine blew and he doesn't want to fix it. He says I can get the carb but neither one of us knows how to remove it or install it. So my question to you all is - -
How to Remove a carb from a stock 85 firebird 305 v8
Please help me with this, it doesn't make sense to let a carb just go to the junkyard.
Thanks
oh and this will be going into a 84 trans am
i thank you again for all feedback

If it's still on, remove the air cleaner by removing the nut on the top and vacuum line going to the carb (just pull the line off).
Remove the wires that go to the carb. They should have a little plastic clip holding them on (many are already broken off).
Pull off all vacuum lines connected to the carb. Some may have a clamp that needs to be squeezed with a pair of pliers.
Remove the throttle cables. They are held on with little metal clips.
Remove the power brake line (5/8" open end or nut wrench) from the back base of the carb.
Remove the fuel line to the front of the carb. Use a 5/8" wrench on the small nut, and a 1" open end wrench on the big nut. Hold the big nut and turn the small one to remove the line.
Remove the hold down bolts with a 1/2" wrench or socket. Two are on top at the front, two on the bottom plate at the back.
Lift carb off intake manifold.
