I'm doing a tpi to carb swap and don't know which carb and intake to use. It is a 1986 with a 305 and I will be adding cam with a lift of .420 on intake and .443 on exhaust.
Any suggestions would be helpful.

Watch the hate mail pour in... But if you're on a budget the factory aluminum spreadbore intake and a Quadrajet in good condition is hard to beat (wrecker prices).
The Q-jet accomodates your 305 without overcarburating it, and the OEM intake works well, especially on a smaller motor. Aftermarket intakes like the Performer are built with a 350 in mind and have slightly larger runners so you can potentially make more HP but suffer a loss of torque at cruising speeds.
It also depends if you are required to pass emissions tests and what your budget is.

I don't know where you are located in PA or if your area has Emissions Inspections "YET", but I hope you have a buddy at a local service station that can provide a "SPECIAL INSPECTION STICKER" because that swap will NEVER pass a true/legal/proper PA Emissions Test.
RE: Hate Mail....
You might want want to stick with the TPI rather than the Carb. [IMPO] The TPI is the best intake system they ever put on a ThirdGen....Gas Mileage, Reliablity, etc. etc....
Sincerely,
Kurt
I work at a truck shop and I do my own inspections and we don't have any emissions testing yet.

You can find a vacuum secondary Holley on Ebay for cheap if you have a little mechanical ability... enough to rebuild it anyway. I got one for about $30, plus a rebuild kit, and it works like new!
