Fuel pump

If I put a 750 Rochester on my 305 , would it be better with a mechanical fuel pump or an electrical one ?

Either one would work just fine with that carb. Its really your preference. I personally pulled the electric pump out of my tank and put a mehcanical one on my engine just because replacing a mechanical one is much cheaper and alot easier. But if you like the electric then it should work just fine.

my 87 was originally an LG4 and has both an in tank electric pump, and a mechanical pump on the block. IIRC 87 was the only year an LG4 had an in tank...anywho...

I have had no problems using both. You should be fine too I would assume, coming from my experience.
