CC Q jet too rich.

I have an LG4 305 that is bone stock. Exhaust seems to be a little rich, even when running on closed loop, but never throws a "check engine. My "choke" light does stay on all the time. Done a lot of work on a 2bl "verajet" on the V6 camaros, and I know the basic adjustments to make on a carburator to tune it. Just never messed with a Quadrajet before. I'm thinking my Idle Mixture solenoid is burned out, which is why "choke" comes on. Car idles smoothly and doesn't hesitate on acceleration. doesn't leak gas anywhere else, and timing is set at 8 degrees BTDC, and idles at about 850ish in neutral (5 speed car). Its got all its emissions stuff on it, but the smog pump does not have a belt on it, so AIR isn't working.

If your choke light is on then the choke probably isnt getting power. Check the fuse and make sure the power wire is still hooked up (its green single wire with a grey harness if my memory serves, plugs into the choke thremostat) and not grounding out anywhere. It should be getting nearly 14v at idle if you check it with a multimeter.
