bad studder problem

bad studder problem

here's the low down when i hit the gas the car kind of leik dies then just all the sudden comes back to life and roars. it happens everytime u kind if hit the gas real quick. if you ease into it it goes ok still does it a little but nto bad

the motor is a 383 with a holley 750 diaphram secondary on it. motor has dart pro 1 heads, with a edelbrock performer rpm intake.

Sounds like a lean bog... probably your accelerator pump is out of adjustment.

no matter how much you work with it, i learned that with carbed cars, you will ALWAYS have a little stall before take-off.

I had a similar problem with mine. Make sure there is no slack at all in the accelerator pump cam arm. If you manually open the throttle, you should see gas come out of the shooter as soon as the throttle opens. There should be no delay. Also check the power valve. My 750 VS had a 6.5 in it. I installed a 8.5 and it helped out a lot. I still have a slight hesitation, and I suspect I could go to a 9.5 valve.

What spring is in the secondary diaphragm?
