It is running rich all the time.
The guy I bought the engine had told me that he adjusted the carb to get more power, but it seams to me that he just cranked the fuel and dropped the gas.
I need to know whick adjuster is which on the carb.
thanx guys.

The only adjustments are the idle speed, idle mixture, and choke (several choke adjustments).
The cruise and power mixture changes require changing the main jets and rods. You can also get different power piston springs. These all require removing the top from the carb to get to them.
The WOT mixture is controlled by rods and a hanger on the secondary air valve mechanism.
All of these assume the float is set and operating properly.
I doubt the previous owner did much to get more power, unless he really knows q-jets. Certainly nothing that would affect all phases of operation.
