Ive looked into different aftermarket 6 Pack Intake kits. Im just not sure if it is worth it. Anyone know about how much work it would take, and if it is even worth it in terms of performance?
performance? no.
show car? maybe.

Performance wise, well they do claim a bit more HP over a single or pair of 4bbl's. But i dont think that would justify the cost of a setup like that!
Now a show car would be different, they do look pretty awesome

They claim a performance gain only because, in theory, more CFM = more power, and most 6-pack setups have around 900-1200cfm capability. In the real world, a properly sized double pumper will make more power.
I will admit though, almost nothing looks cooler

Agreed, I love the look of the six pack, but stick to the basics for performance.

demon claims the dyno showed +13hp/+12ftlb over a speed demon 650cfm double pumper and edelbrock air-gap.
Not really the best bang for the buck i guess @ $2300+!

I bet a 750dp would have out-done the 6-pack though.Originally Posted by 84z28350

They're a biatch to tune too. Tuning two carbs to run together is hard enough. Throw in an extra one...wouldn't you rather have a double pumper?
